Equity & Human Rights Committee

The Equity and Human Rights Committee engages staff and the community at large in human rights and social justice activities to promote the tolerance and understanding of diverse cultures and sexual orientations for all public-school children and educators. As a committee, we are addressing issues that are facing the Chino Valley Unified School District. Add your voice to help shape the future of equity in CVUSD.

Resources For Your Classroom

 Teaching Tolerance:

From film kits and lesson plans to the building blocks of a customized Learning Plan—texts, student tasks, and teaching strategies—our resources will help you bring relevance, rigor, and social-emotional learning into your classroom—all for FREE. Not sure where to begin? Get to know our Social Justice Standards, anchor standards, and age-appropriate learning outcomes divided into four domains—Identity, Diversity, Justice, and Action. The Standards provide a common language and a road map for anti-bias education at every grade level.

Racial Justice Resources:

We are joining together across races and places to ensure every student has the opportunities they need to succeed.

Affirming Black Lives in School: Teachers, Administrators, Students

This document is a curated list of resources (books, videos, articles, etc.) organized specifically for educational stakeholders (teachers, administrators, students, families) interested in learning more about racial justice. We understand folks are coming to this work with a diverse range of experiences and the resources included represent a wide range of sources (with an emphasis on voices of color).
